M-STEP Performance Tasks
The state has released one ELA and math sample Classroom Activity (CA) and
Performance Task (PT) for each grade level to familiarize and help prepare
students for M-STEP in the spring. I would encourage you to check them out and
even have your students try them.
In addition, the rubrics for narrative, informational, and opinion PT are
available for view. The expectation for ELA Performance Tasks is that each
student will write one full-length essay with multiple paragraphs. The students
could receive either a narrative, informational, or opinion PT. Schools and
teachers will not know which mode the students will be asked to respond to
until the testing session begins. Therefore, this is a great opportunity to
compare our Reading Street rubrics to M-STEP and make adjustments as needed.
Please click http://www.michigan.gov/mde/0,4615,7-140-22709_70117_70118---,00.html to explore the ELA and math Performance
Tasks.

Please continue
to check dress code every morning, especially students’ shoes. I’ve been
noticing A LOT of students wearing gym shoes at lunch. It's important that we
