Small Group Testing Accommodation

As we adjust to having some of our special education students taking assessments in the classroom rather than in the Resource Room, please remember that, we still have to give the students the small group accommodation as written in their IEP plan. A small group accommodation means the following:

§ Students are seated away from other students or potential distractions. This can mean that students are seated at a separate table with the teacher or at a desk next to the teacher's desk
§ Students are monitored closely for engagement and redirected as needed. This is something I am sure you do for all students, but special education students usually need more of this in order to stay on task.

Thank you for helping us make this a smooth transition for our students!

M-STEP Sample Test Items

MDE has release more sample test items to prepare students and teachers for the rigor of Michigan’s academic content standards in mathematics and ELA. This provides teachers and students practice using its navigation tools/features, become familiar with the technology-enhanced items they are likely to experience in the spring, and practice ELA and mathematics test items at their grade level.

This new resource differs from the Spring 2015 Preview by providing more sample test items specific to grade and content.

You can access the Sample Item Sets through Google Chrome at https://wbte.drcedirect.com/MI/portals/mi/.

Grade-level meeting

Please view the items on the agenda to help you prepare for this week’s grade-level meeting:

·       Reviewing each grade levels’ Performance Task plan and making adjustments as needed

·       Looking at Mock Testing results of those students who scored 35% proficiency or lower
Looking at the different CAM reports, if time remains
