Thankful

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to express my deepest, heartfelt appreciate for all of you. I am extremely grateful to work with you every day. Thank you so much for all the hard work and energy you put into your job.  I appreciate all the extra things and extra hours you work to ensure learning is occurring so our students can be successful. You continuously push yourself to learn new and innovative ways to reach students and raise achievement. Thank you for the wonderful moments and memories that happen each and every day. Those memories are because of you and your dedication. THANK YOU
 
 

Grade Level Meeting

See below for this week’s grade level meeting agenda. Our main focus this week will be analyzing interim 1 data. Please bring your analysis grid and any differentiated resources to the meeting.

O3s

During your O3 this week, we will be discussing, finalizing, and assigning ratings for your October planning, teaching, and assessing evidence. In addition, please bring your accommodation logs. I need to sign them and verify that Trimester 1 is complete.  

Classroom Framework Evidence

Don’t forget that we will be focusing on classroom culture this week. Please look over the descriptions for each rating and let me know if you have any questions about the expectation of evidence needed.  

Week of November 27-December 1: Classroom Culture
·         Schedule a 15 minute Classroom Culture observation by Tuesday, November 21.

Continue to collect your evidence and/or begin to think about when you want me to observe your instruction for the following competencies for December.  

Week of December 4-8: Planning and Teaching
·         Bring lesson plans for the weeks of November 13, 20, 27, December 4 to your O3.
·         Schedule your 15 minute teaching observation for either this week or the week of December 11-15 by December 1. I will be out of the building majority of the week (December 11-15), so I wanted you to have the opportunity to schedule a week earlier.

Week of December 11-15: Teaching
·         If you didn’t schedule your teaching observation for the week of December 4-8, please schedule it for December 11 or 12 by December 1.  

Week of December 18-22: Assessing
·         Please place your evidence in my mailbox for the indicator “Actionable Feedback” before you leave for Winter break.
·         We cover the first two indicators during grade-level meetings.

Out of the Building

I will be out of the building on Monday, November 27 attending a leadership training with Kim. I will also be out on Tuesday afternoon for a doctor’s appointment. If you need anything while I am away, please see your team lead or member of the admin team.

O3s and Grade Level Meetings

No O3s or grade level meetings this week. Please use that time to prepare for conferences. During your O3, the week of November 27 we will be discussing your planning, teaching, and assessing evidence.

·        Please place your evidence in my mailbox for the indicator “Actionable Feedback” before you leave for Thanksgiving break.

Possible Assessing Evidence:
·        Class Grid analysis sheet for math and/or reading summative assessments (MAP, unit, etc.)
·        Different work samples of completed activities used to address misconceptions identified on your class grid sheet
·        Feedback written on assessments or activities
·        Student goal sheets with action steps
·        Evidence of students tracking their progress

Welcome, Jessa!


I would like to welcome Jessa Gargan to our team. She is our new TIR. Currently, she is Jessica’s long term sub while she is on maternity leave. If you see her in the hallway, please say hello!

Retentions


If you are considering a student for retention, please remember per our handbook, three parent meetings/check-ins are required throughout the school year. The first one will need to take place before Winter Break (preferably at conferences).

I know it’s early in the school year, but if there is a student that you are considering, please see me sometime this week so we can discuss the process and paperwork requirements. Please note that this is not a final decision, just an initial step in the process.
