O3s

During O3s this week, we will be discussing your goals to check your progress and make adjustments as needed. Please bring your goal sheet.

In addition, we will be going over your workshop and teaching observations.

·        Please bring your evidence for the indicator “Actionable Feedback” to your O3.
·        We cover the first two indicators during grade-level meetings

FLO Schedule

For the month of February, we will not follow our normal Classroom Framework schedule. Instead, we will be focusing on completing our second round of full lesson observations (FLO). The second FLO has to be unannounced, so when you sign up, please select three different dates and times for a 30-45 observation. Please indicate your dates with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (e.g. Drain-1st, Drain-2nd, etc.). I will randomly select one of those dates/times to observe you without any notification.
 
Once I have complete your FLO, I will schedule your O3 to discuss it.

FLO Evidence

I will be collecting several pieces of evidence for your second Full Lesson Observation ratings. See below for the evidence needed. Let me know if you have any questions.

Classroom Culture
·        Evidence will be gathered from the FLO

Planning:
·        Submit lesson plans for the weeks of January 22, 29, February 5, and 12 by Thursday, February 15
·        Differentiated Planning: I will observe your workshop unannounced during the week of February 19

Teaching:
·        Evidence will be gathered from the FLO
·        Personalized Instruction: I will observe your workshop unannounced during the week of February 19

Assessing:
·        Submit February assessing evidence by Thursday, March 1

Out of the Building


I will be out of the building next Tuesday and Wednesday for Principal Prep. Please see you team lead or a member of the admin team if you need anything.

Grade Level Meeting


Grade level meetings will be cancelled this week since I will be out of the building. Please use that time to meet as a team to complete at least one Behavior Motivation Analysis. We will be discussing the Behavior Motivation Analysis at our grade level meeting the week of January 29.  

School Goals

One of our school goals is for teachers and students to exemplify Moral Focus virtues in their words and actions. Do you regularly reference the virtues when speaking to your students? Try to be intentional with affirming or redirecting your students. The more you do it, the more authentic it becomes.

Great Ideas


Please check out the “Great Ideas” tab on our blog. I have updated it to include best practices from Conti, Wolken, Brown, Young, Burger, Wagner, and Seltz. These are the best practices that they shared in Herald Articles this school year. I will be adding the 2nd and 3rd grade teams in the upcoming months.   

New Teacher PD

I will be facilitating New Teacher PD all day on Tuesday in the staff room. Although I will be in the building, please see your team lead or a member of the admin team if you should need anything.
