Lockdown and Room Clear Drills

We will have a lockdown drill on Tuesday around 8:25. Don’t forget the procedure for the lockdown drill is to lock the door and cover all windows.

Immediately following the all clear for the lockdown drill, we will begin our room clear drill. I will follow the order below. Here is how this will work:
I will come into a classroom and announce "room clear" and then tell the students which classroom to go to. The classroom teacher will remain in the room (just like in a real emergency, the teacher would remain with the injured student) while the students line up quickly and quietly and file into the other classroom. The students should remain standing along the cubbies of the classroom until I tell them to return to their original classroom. Once everyone is back in class, I will go to the next classroom and repeat the process. Hopefully we will be able to move quickly and get through all of the classrooms without causing too much disruption. Here is the list of "buddy" rooms:
·        Stevens-Swygert
·        Swygert-Boe
·        Boe-Stevens
·        Wagner-Heires
·        Heires-McGinn
·        McGinn-Wagner
·        Van Sickle-Gyulveszi
·        Gyulveszi-Brown
·        Brown-Van Sickle
·        Kinsley-Burchman
·        Burchman-Kinsley

This is our first time doing this type of drill, so please take the time to explain it to students in advance so that they know what to do and what is expected of them.
