Reading Street News

·              Don’t forget that you need to change all of your writing rubric headings to:

3.0
2.5
2.0
1.0

·                   Weekly Writing:
o   Don’t forget to score the entire rubric, but only conventions and one other trait should be entered into grade book.

o   Some form of communication needs to go out informing your parents about the grading.

o   To identify the standard for the trait that you are grading look on the “Focus on Common Core State Standards” page in your TE.

·                   Unit Writing:
o   Unit writing should be completed this week!

o   You will score the entire rubric and enter the scores for all of the traits (focus/ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentences, and conventions) into grade book.

o   As I stated at your last grade-level meeting, I will provide you with all of the standards for each of the unit writing rubrics. I completed unit 1 and will bring the new  rubric to our grade-level meeting this week. The new rubric has the C.C. standard underneath each trait. You are not required to use this rubric; it’s more for you to know which standards should be entered into grade book.

o   We will start Prove-It (Performance Task) writing the week of October 13th. I will go over the details during your grade-level meeting.

·                Unit 1 Review
o   Everyone will do Unit 1 Review this week!
o   You won’t assess spelling because there are no new spelling words being introduced. More details will be provided during your grade-level meeting.

·       Level 2 Assessment:
o   Students will take both part A & B of their Unit 1, level 2 assessment. More details will be provided during your grade-level meeting.
